I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
